2011 all-inclusive, small group, fully escorted tours in Italy

Whether you are travelling alone, or with friends, spouse or partner you'll find our small group (maximum of 8 travellers) holiday- tours encompass authentic Italian experiences and customs, great food and wine, balancng sightseing and relaxation.  In 2011 we are offering six Italian tours, each one focussing on one or two regions or areas of Italy.  We travel in May-June and in September-October and our tours are inclusive of all meals, accommodation, land transportation from beginning to end of the tour, and entry to stipulated sites.

May-June 2011 Tours

Tour A: Italian Healthy Indulgence & Slow Food Tuscany

Thursday May 26 - Saturday June 4 2011 Tuscany (Florence for 2 nights,  then a villa in the hills near Lucca for 7 nights)

This Italian Spring holiday tour is especially for travellers who would like to experience Tuscany rather than just "visit" the region.  It's ideal for foodies who want to really enjoy themselves: for those who want to eat well, in true Tuscan manner.  Eat where and what the Tuscans eat!  We offer Tuscan food & wine in a convivial relaxed atmosphere, experiencing the Italian way of life - if only for 10 days - whilst exploring in style some of the wonderful art and history of this spectacular region.  And we also take a day to explore the breath-taking Cinque Terre.

Tour B: Big Island Hopping: Sensational Sicily and Sardinia

Monday June 6 - Friday June 17 2011 Sardegna/ Sardinia (5 nights) and Sicilia /Sicily (6 nights)

Where history merges with myth! Sicily, a most varied and beautiful island, offers Spanish, Greek and Italian history and architecture. The beaches and coastal towns are superb, the food delicious, and Mount Etna an experience to remember for ever. Sardegna is a hidden treasure: even for most Italians, many parts of this island remain virtually undiscovered. Climb down into a fortressed nuraghe - a 2000 year old house! This will be a holiday-tour with a difference - designed for travellers who’d like to discover a unique, intriguing and fascinating part of Italy.

Tour C: The Green Heart of Italy: Tasting Tuscany and Umbria

Saturday June 18 – Monday June 27 2011 Tuscany Cortona 7 nights and Firenze/Florence 2    

This holiday offers enjoyment of Italian food & wine in a relaxed atmosphere together with an effortless exploration of some of the marvelous treasures linked to this historical part of Italy.  We start off with a fabulous night at a traditional Medieval celebration of jousting, procession, and skilled flag throwing.  We’ll travel with a chef who is also a local with excellent contacts and many friends in the area.  Sometimes we'll eat at home, other times at selected specialist trattorie and one evening at an elegant winery. We'll drink some excellent local wines. And there's also an opportumity to take 2 classes in traditional Tuscan cooking with our chef if you wish.

Tour D: Italian Healthy Indulgence and Slow Food Tuscany

Thursday September 15 - Saturday September 24, 2011  Tuscany (Florence for 2 nights then a week living in a villa in the hills near Lucca)

Autumn in Italy is beautiful.  This September holiday is especially for those who want to experience the real Italian way of life, in a stress-free manner: for those who want to eat well, in true Tuscan style, eating where and what real Tuscans eat! We offer a friendly relaxed atmosphere –  whilst indulging our senses in some of the magnificient art and history of the region. Also on our itinerary is a day trip to the magical Cinque Terre!  Everything's included!                                                                                        

Tour E: Trulli  Puglia: Food, Wine, Lecce & Trulli Cones

Thursday September 29 – Saturday October 8, 2011 Puglia (city of Lecce 2 nights, countryside trullo house 7 nights)

Beautiful, exotic, hospitable, but not yet well-known,  Puglia is the stiletto heel on a map of Italy.  This tour is designed to introduce you to wonderful "real" Puglia: it is entirely all inclusive from start to finish: enjoy the wide variety of architectural  styles, language, food and wine.  Lecce, referred to as the  Florence of the south (Baroque!), Greek inspired white villages, ancient unique-to-Puglia trulli houses, and some of the best wines south of Tuscany. Everything is organised for you.  Enjoy a convivial, stress-free holiday!  

Tour F: Piemonte's Palate: Luxury Taste Travels

Thursday October 13 – Saturday October 22, 2011  Piemonte (Torino 3 nights, then wine country for 6 nights)

This tour experience is especially designed for lovers of wine and food who would like to focus on the rich northern region of Piemonte. ALL INCLUSIVE from start to finish.  Truffles, Barolo, gourmet dinners, dinners at local osterie, visits to vineyards - combined with day and half-day fully escorted trips to special places of interest. We spend time with the winemakers in small and large vineyards, and learn about the history and production of grapes in the Langhe, including the special nebbiolo grape. If you haven't already done so, you'll fall in love with fine Barolo wine!
