This July travel and holiday experience is especially designed for travellers who would like to explore and enjoy the magical coastline and surrounding towns in southern Italy, from Napoli to Sorrento, to Positano to Amalfi, with an additional 2 days on the popular holiday island of Capri. It's all inclusive of exceptional accommodation, land transportation, and guides, with our usual priority of enjoyment of food and wine in a convivial, relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
We'll be staying for 3 nights in sheltered Positano, built from the sea up the hill, surrounded by tall steep cliffs, in a 4* hotel: the myth of the Sirens and Odysseus linked to the 3 small islands "li Galli" or "Sirenuse" nearby. We'll be eating well, and one night perhaps making pizzas near the harbour. Travelling along the beautiful coastal road to Amalfi, and a little inland to Ravello. We'll travel to Paestum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, dating from the C6th BC, with magnificent ancient Greek temples - many describe them as the best in Italy: nearby, some tasting of the famous Buffalo Mozzarella.
Elsewhere, a journey through lemon and orange groves. Staying on an estate in Massa Lubrense for 4 nights, we spend time also in Sorrento, Napoli, and of course, a guided visit to Pompeii, the Roman town completely destroyed By Mount Vesuvius' volcanic eruption in AD79. For those of you who would like to try your hand at preparing traditional food of the region, we'll have a local chef with us: we'll offer a (completely optional!) hands-on cooking class.
Finally, two nights on the fabulous popular holiday destination of the island of Capri in a 4* hotel, travelling over by private boat if the weather is suitable, with a boat trip also around the island, and walks in Capri, Anacapri and San Michele. Plus opportunities for other local and panoramic walks, and relaxing times at our villa or hotel around the swimmibg pool.
All meals are included, with dinners ranging from a pizza to fine dining, according to the specialities of particular trattorie and ristoranti. All land transportation, and boat/ferry included. Our tour starts in Positano, with meeting and pick up in Napoli on JUly 1 2012 included in the cost.
